Returning from the Christmas break to an away fixture to top of the league was always going to be a physical game.

Old Coops started physically dominating in the collision unfortunately conceding 3 very well worked tries by the Braintree backline. Eventually, getting on the scoresheet with a well worked forward try scored by Big Chaz.

Half time 17-10

Second half saw Old Coops score early but then onto sustain a lot of attacking pressure from Braintree for large portion of the half. Old Coops showed an impressive defensive display from all players of the squad.

Finally after 2 quick tries from Braintree, Sam slatford returns with a try in the corner to earn us the losing bonus point.

Final Score 29-24

MOTM goes to George Brittle for his excellent work off the ball, impressive carries and leadership in the lineout.
