LATE POST ALERT** OC's u15s earned a well deserved 52-7 win at home against a plucky Rochford side last Sunday. Early points came from the kick off, where the ball was taken into contact and quickly recycled, then good hands along the backline resulted in a fine jinking run from Lennie Hough, through flailing defenders, to touch down in the first minute. Rochford battled hard to keep the constant wave of attacks at bay, but a solo run from George Walsh, from the halfway line, earned another try. Rochford's powerful centre partnership helped them to gain a try of their own, before a Teddy Monk try, then a pair of tries from Jayden S-B, all via great passing and pace, had the scoreboard at 33-7 at halftime. The OC forwards really upped the tempo in the second half, giving the backs a great platform, resulting in a fine charge from Lennie Hough to score a great team try. Lineouts and ruck speed were all impressive and Rochford could do nothing to defend two more tries from the pacey Teddy Monk, one scored with a dummy reminiscent of Matt Dawson in the 1997 Lions test! Credit to Rochford, who never let their heads dip and gave the forwards a bruising time in the contact area. Reggie Marshall kicked 6 out of 8 conversions. Man of the match was Teddy, who not only scored a fine hat trick, but also tackled superbly, saving a few tries.
